BJE200XL

I had a horrible experience with the Breville BJE200XL juicer. I followed the instructions closely and completely washed/cleaned all parts after each use.

After about the 5th time though... I was getting barely any juice. The pulp container had the juice... making a fruit mud really.

Then because there was so much juice sitting around in the machine... it started to leak out of the top.

I figured out the problem... the filter would clog up after 1 or 2 pieces of fruit. Then because this model keeps the pulp just outside the filter... the vacuum created by the motor forces any excess liquid to the top of the machine and push it's way out of the lid.

I wouldn't purchase this model. The model looked ideal but I definitely think there is some issue with the filter screen in combination with the pulp container not being separated from the unit like most juicers out there.

I emailed Breville about this and asked to return the product to them after only 1 month of owning it. They wouldn't take it back and instead told me to wash the filter with bleach.

I'm sorry but I don't use bleach on my dishes... why would I try it on a filter screen that juice will squeeze out of? I got Crate & Barrel to take it back... they were understanding.

I had the same experience.

This juicer looked similar to the Jack Lalanne juicer which I originally wanted, but couldn't find the model I wanted in the store, and the price was the same, so I bought it. I owned it for exactly 5 hours before I took it back to the store.
I have used a juicer every day for the last 4 years, so I know how a juicer is supposed to work. This one didn't do the job. I couldn't even get one glass of juice out of the machine the first time I tried it. All it did was clog up with pulp. I took it apart to clean it, and the basket and drip tray were filled to the brim with mushy puree consistency pulp stuff. It spilled all over the floor and was a mess to clean up.
I recommend the Juiceman II, although I still would like to try the Jack Lalanne brand.
