Acme Juicer - Have You Heard Of The Juicerator?

While to many people, the phrase "Acme Juicer" can call to mind an image of a cartoon coyote building a cunning trap, there are features of the device that would please the legendary coyote.

Acme juicers have a patented flywheel in the base to act as a gyroscope and reduce vibration and rocking.

A self-adjusting clutch handles normal wear to allow trouble free operation.

All of the interior parts are made of stainless steel and are designed for easy removal to facilitate ease of cleaning.

The inner basket, where the fruits and vegetables are dropped after going through the blade, rotates at 60 revolutions per second, forcing the juice through the strainer but keeping the pulp for easy removal.

While not directly applicable to catching desert avians, it does provide a rewarding juicing experience.

The Acme 5001 is also known as the Juicerator. Basically, a two quart white cylinder, this model is 550-watts and is easy to use. There are some complaints that the model is messy and difficult to clean.

The machine weighs about a dozen pounds and is roughly the same size as a sheet of paper, 11” tall and 8.5” in diameter.

This Acme juicer is a centrifugal juicer, in which the produce is fed into a spinning chamber where the juice is sprayed into the outlet while the pulp remains in the basket.

The feeding tube is large so little cutting is required and the capacity is two quarts.

The model is a bit dated, and is heavier and bulkier than some other models, but by all accounts is extremely reliable and durable.

It isn’t hard to find testimonials of thirty-year-old machines still in constant use. The guarantee is five years.

The Acme 6001 Juicer - Juicerator is a similar model to the 5001, but of the higher quality. The guarantee is a full ten years.

Parts that were plastic in the 5001 are stainless steel in the 6001. Like the 5001 Juicerator, this is a centrifugal juicer with a central basket that holds the pulp while the juice flows into the receptacle.

It does weigh 15 pounds, slightly heavier, and has the same 3600-rpm, 1/4 horsepower induction motor. Like the 5001, the 6001 has a two quart capacity.

The clutch simply twists for removal, allowing the strainer and other attached components to lift out for easy cleaning.

There are optional parts. One is an attachment to convert the juicer into a citrus juicer, stepping the 3600-rpm down to 300. Paper filters to further simplify cleaning are available.

Replacement blades and clutches are also easily ordered, which is not true of all companies in the field.
